Child Safety Standards — Debate Verdict: Debate

Last updated: May 26, 2026

Debate Verdict: Debate is a text-only debate app where users can discuss topics, choose For, Against, or Neutral, write answers, comment, reply, follow topics, and participate in community conversations. We are committed to keeping the platform safe, especially for minors.

1) Zero tolerance for CSAE/CSAM

Debate Verdict: Debate has a zero tolerance policy for any content or behavior that sexually exploits, endangers, or attempts to exploit children, including Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE), or any content that sexualizes minors.

This policy applies to all areas of the app, including debates, posts, answers, comments, replies, usernames, profiles, links, messages, group chats, topics, and any other user-generated content.

2) Reporting and in-app safety tools

Users can report content and accounts directly in the app. Reports help us identify harmful behavior and enforce our safety rules.

  • Report debates, posts, answers, comments, replies, messages, topics, profiles, or accounts that violate safety rules
  • Block accounts to stop unwanted interactions
  • Contact us directly for urgent safety concerns
  • We review reports and may remove content, restrict features, or ban accounts when appropriate
3) Enforcement actions

We may remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, or permanently ban accounts that violate our child safety policies. Severe child safety violations can result in immediate permanent account removal.

Debate Verdict: Debate may also preserve relevant account or content information when required by law or when needed to support safety investigations.

4) Handling illegal content

If we become aware of content that may involve CSAM, CSAE, or related child exploitation, we take steps to remove it from the service and may report it to appropriate authorities, hotlines, or relevant organizations where legally required or appropriate.

5) Age requirements

Users must be at least 13 years old to use Debate Verdict: Debate. Accounts that appear to represent users under 13 may be removed.

6) Debate and community safety

Debate Verdict: Debate is designed for users to challenge ideas, not target people. Users may debate For, Against, or Neutral, but they must not use debates, comments, replies, or messages to harass, exploit, threaten, or endanger minors.
