Debate Verdict: Debate is a text-only debate app where users can post debates, choose For, Against, or Neutral, write answers, comment, reply, follow topics, send messages, and join community discussions. This page explains how you can delete specific content without deleting your whole account.

Delete specific content without deleting your account

To delete your debates, posts, answers, comments, replies, or messages, you must be logged in. Below are the steps for each type of content.

1) Delete a Debate or Post

1. Open the debate or post you created.
2. Tap the 3 dots (⋮) menu on the debate/post.
3. Select Delete from the dropdown.
4. Confirm the deletion if prompted.

Note: The Delete option appears only for the owner of the debate or post.

2) Delete an Answer or Argument

1. Open the debate that contains your answer.
2. Choose the correct side if needed: For, Against, or Neutral.
3. Find your answer or argument.
4. Use the 3 dots (⋮) menu near the answer actions.
5. Select Delete.

Note: Deleting an answer may also remove or affect replies, reactions, or discussion connected to that answer.

3) Delete a Comment

1. Open the answer where your comment was posted.
2. Open the comments area.
3. Find your comment.
4. Click the bin/trash icon or use the available delete option.

4) Delete a Reply

1. Open the replies under a comment.
2. Find your reply.
3. Click the bin/trash icon or use the available delete option to remove it.

5) Delete a Message in Chat or Group Chat

1. Go to Chat or Group Chat.
2. Find the message you want to delete.
3. Open the message menu, usually shown as 3 dots (⋮) on or near that message.
4. Press Delete.

Depending on the chat type, deleting a message may remove it for you and/or for other people in the conversation.

If you can’t delete something

If you do not see the Delete option, it usually means one of these things:

• You are not logged in.
• You are not the owner of that content.
• The content is part of a moderation, safety, or account review.
• The feature is temporarily unavailable on your device or app version.
