Debate Verdict: Debate is a text-only debate app where users can post debates, choose For, Against, or Neutral, follow topics, write answers, comment, reply, chat, and participate in Community Verdicts. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and what choices you have.


1. Who we are

Debate Verdict: Debate (“Debate Verdict”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a debate-focused social platform where users can create debates, answer with For, Against, or Neutral views, follow topics, comment, reply, chat, report content, and participate in community discussions.

2. What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, how long we keep it, and the choices available to users of Debate Verdict: Debate.

3. Information we collect

A) Account and profile information

When you create an account, sign in, or update your profile, we may collect:

  • Name, username, and email address
  • Login credentials, with passwords stored in a protected form
  • Profile details you choose to add, such as bio/about information
  • Profile photo or avatar, if you upload one
  • Account settings, privacy settings, and notification preferences

If you sign in with Google or another supported login provider, we may receive basic profile information from that provider, such as your verified email address and name, to create or log in to your account.

B) Debate content and activity

We collect content and activity you create or interact with on the platform, including:

  • Debates, questions, posts, answers, comments, and replies
  • For, Against, and Neutral side selections
  • Topics you create, follow, search, or interact with
  • Likes, reactions, follows, blocks, and reports
  • Community Verdict activity and debate engagement signals

C) Messages and chats

If you use private chats or group chats, we collect and store the messages you send and receive so the chat features can work. This may include message text, timestamps, participants, group chat details, and message-related actions such as delete, reaction, or report events.

D) Images and media

Debate Verdict is primarily text-first, but some features may allow limited image or media uploads, such as profile images or supported app content. If you upload images or media, we may store them using a media hosting provider and keep references such as URLs or IDs so the app can display them.

E) Reports, moderation, and safety information

When users report content, accounts, debates, comments, replies, or messages, we may collect the report reason, report details, reported content, reporter information, account identifiers, timestamps, and moderation actions taken.

F) Technical and log data

For security, reliability, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention, we may collect:

  • IP address or approximate location information
  • Browser, device, operating system, and app version information
  • Timestamps, error logs, sign-in logs, and security events
  • Cookies or local storage for login/session functionality on web
  • Basic analytics or performance information
4. How we use your information
  • Operate the service, including accounts, login, feeds, topics, chats, notifications, and debate features
  • Show debates, answers, comments, replies, profiles, and topics to other users depending on visibility settings
  • Support For, Against, Neutral participation and Community Verdict features
  • Personalize the app experience, including profile settings and followed topics
  • Send account-related messages, verification emails, password reset emails, and support replies
  • Protect users and the platform through moderation, reports, blocks, anti-spam, and fraud prevention
  • Improve performance, debug errors, and maintain app security
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines
5. How we share information

A) With other users

Your profile information and public activity may be visible to other users depending on your settings and what you publish. This may include debates, For/Against/Neutral answers, comments, replies, topics, reactions, profile details, and public account activity.

B) With service providers

We may use trusted providers to help run the app, such as hosting, database, email delivery, authentication, media hosting, analytics, security, notification, and infrastructure services. These providers process data only to provide services to us.

C) For legal, security, and safety reasons

We may disclose information if required by law or if we believe it is necessary to prevent harm, investigate abuse, respond to legal requests, protect users, enforce our rules, or protect the rights and safety of Debate Verdict, our users, or others.

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Cookies and local storage on web

We may use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember basic preferences, support security, and make website features work correctly.

7. Data retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain safety and security, resolve disputes, enforce our rules, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

Account deletion

When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal data where reasonably possible. Some information may be retained for a limited time when needed for legal compliance, safety, security, fraud prevention, rule enforcement, dispute resolution, or backups that expire on a normal cycle.

Content deletion

You may be able to delete certain debates, posts, answers, comments, replies, or messages directly in the app. Some records may remain where required for safety, moderation, legal, technical, or backup reasons.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to help protect user information. However, no system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or object to certain uses of your personal information. You can update many profile settings inside the app.

  • Update your profile information in account settings
  • Delete certain posts, debates, answers, comments, replies, or messages
  • Block users you do not want to interact with
  • Report content or accounts that may violate our rules
  • Request account deletion or data support through the app or by contacting us
10. Children

Debate Verdict: Debate is not intended for children under 13. If we learn that we collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it. We also maintain child safety rules and reporting processes for content or behavior that may endanger minors.
