Terms of Service — Debate Verdict: Debate

Welcome to Debate Verdict: Debate, a text-only debate app where users can post debates, choose For, Against, or Neutral, follow topics, write answers, comment, reply, chat, and participate in Community Verdicts. These Terms explain the rules for using the service.
1. Agreement
By accessing or using Debate Verdict: Debate, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, you should not use the service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Debate Verdict: Debate. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you confirm that you have permission from a parent or guardian to use the service.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for the activity on your account.
- Keep your login details secure and do not share your password.
- Do not impersonate another person, brand, organization, or public figure.
- Do not create accounts to spam, harass, manipulate debate results, or avoid enforcement.
- You may need a valid email address to create, access, recover, or delete your account.
4. Debate content and participation
Debate Verdict: Debate is built for discussion, opinions, and argument-based participation. Users may create debates, answer debates, comment, reply, follow topics, and join conversations through For, Against, or Neutral viewpoints.
- For means you support the debate question or main idea.
- Against means you disagree with or challenge the debate question.
- Neutral means you want to add balance, context, uncertainty, or a middle-ground view.
- Users should debate ideas and arguments, not personally attack other users.
- Community Verdicts are based on user activity and engagement, not guaranteed facts or official decisions.
5. Your content and our permission to host it
You own the content you create. By posting debates, answers, comments, replies, messages, profile details, topics, or other content, you give Debate Verdict: Debate a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and process your content only as needed to operate, improve, protect, and promote the service.
This includes showing your content in feeds, debate pages, topic pages, profiles, notifications, search results, Community Verdict features, backups, moderation review, and app/website previews.
6. Rules: what you must not do
You agree not to use Debate Verdict: Debate to:
- Harass, bully, threaten, stalk, or target other users
- Encourage violence, harm, or dangerous behavior
- Post hateful, discriminatory, or dehumanizing content
- Post or promote sexual content involving minors — zero tolerance
- Share private personal information, including addresses, phone numbers, IDs, or private screenshots
- Scam, phish, spam, or post misleading links
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
- Manipulate Community Verdicts, likes, follows, comments, replies, or engagement
- Upload illegal content or violate applicable laws
- Attempt to hack, scrape, disrupt, reverse engineer, overload, or abuse the platform
- Use AI Remix, text filters, or other tools to hide abuse, threats, harassment, or policy-breaking content
7. Topics, chats, and private messages
Debate Verdict: Debate may allow topic following, private chats, group chats, reactions, and messaging features. These features must follow the same Terms and Community Guidelines as public debates.
- Do not use chats or group chats to harass, exploit, scam, threaten, or spam users.
- Do not share private or sensitive information without permission.
- Group chats and messages may be subject to reports, moderation, or enforcement when safety concerns are raised.
8. Moderation and enforcement
We may review, remove, restrict, or moderate content if we believe it violates these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Community Guidelines, child safety standards, applicable law, or platform safety requirements.
- We may remove debates, posts, answers, comments, replies, messages, topics, or profiles.
- We may limit features, reduce visibility, suspend accounts, or permanently ban accounts.
- Severe safety violations may lead to immediate account removal.
- We may cooperate with lawful requests, safety organizations, or investigations where required or appropriate.
9. Reporting and blocking
Users can report content, debates, answers, comments, replies, profiles, messages, or behavior that may violate our rules. Users can also block accounts to stop unwanted interactions.
Reports help us improve safety, but reporting does not guarantee a specific outcome. We review reports and take action when appropriate.
10. Third-party services
Some features may depend on third-party services, such as hosting, databases, authentication, Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, email delivery, media hosting, analytics, notifications, or app store services. Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies.
11. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Debate Verdict: Debate does not guarantee that the service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that all content will be accurate, reliable, or appropriate.
Content posted by users represents user opinions and expression. It should not be treated as professional, legal, financial, medical, or other expert advice.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Debate Verdict: Debate is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or similar damages arising from your use of the service, user content, debate activity, chats, or third-party services.
13. Account deletion and data deletion
You may stop using the service at any time. You may also request or perform account deletion and delete certain content where available. Some limited information may be retained when required for legal, safety, security, fraud prevention, moderation, backup, or rule enforcement reasons.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to Debate Verdict: Debate if needed to protect users, enforce rules, prevent abuse, comply with law, or protect the platform.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Debate Verdict: Debate grows, changes features, or updates safety, moderation, privacy, and legal practices. If changes are important, we may update the date above and provide notice in-app or on the website.
