Sponsored Participation and Earnings Terms

Version earnings-v1 · Last updated September 10, 2026

These terms explain the conditions for requesting a place in a sponsored question or debate and receiving a reward for an approved contribution.

1. Who may participate

Paid participation is available only to signed-in users who confirm they are at least 18 years old. A sponsor may review the public profile, public contribution history, and optional note supplied with a request. Do not put private or sensitive information in that note.

2. Admission to a sponsored campaign

Sending a request does not reserve a place. The campaign sponsor may approve or reject a request before seeing the applicant’s paid contribution. An approval is personal to that account, cannot be transferred, and reserves one opportunity to submit before the campaign closes. Sponsors may not promise a reward outside DeVerdict or require off-platform payment.

3. Contribution requirements

An accepted participant may submit one original, good-faith contribution for the campaign. It must follow the campaign brief, stated contribution requirements, Community Guidelines, and Terms of Service. Plagiarism, spam, duplicate accounts, coordinated manipulation, impersonation, or materially misleading evidence can disqualify a submission.

4. Independent reward review

Sponsor approval allows participation; it does not determine payment. After submission, a DeVerdict platform administrator independently checks whether the contribution meets the published requirements and platform rules. The sponsor does not receive the power to reject a reward merely because the participant disagrees with the sponsor.

5. Rewards and availability

The campaign page shows the fixed reward for an approved contribution. A reward is not earned until the submission passes DeVerdict’s rules-based review or, when an objective check flags an exception, an administrator approves it. Approved rewards may remain pending during the displayed hold period and become withdrawable only when payouts are enabled, the minimum payout is reached, and the user completes the payment provider’s identity and account checks.

6. Reversals, fraud, and refunds

DeVerdict may pause, withhold, or reverse unpaid rewards when a payment is refunded, disputed, unauthorized, fraudulent, duplicated, or connected to rule-breaking. Rewards already paid may be subject to recovery where permitted by law and payment-provider rules. DeVerdict will not reverse a qualifying reward solely because of the viewpoint expressed.

7. Taxes and payment provider

Participants are responsible for any tax reporting or tax obligations that apply to their earnings. Payouts may be handled through Stripe Connect, which may require legal name, address, date of birth, bank details, tax information, or identity documents under Stripe’s own terms and verification rules.

8. Records and changes

DeVerdict records the accepted earnings-terms version and acceptance time. If these terms materially change, a participant may be required to accept the new version before joining another campaign or receiving a payout. These Sponsored Participation and Earnings Terms supplement the main Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Community Guidelines.
